It has been forever

I catch myself hypothetically writing more posts in this blog, never actually sitting my bony behind down on the white wooden stool, unscrewed by the keen- to- learn-about-the-world toddler, and punch the thoughts into the slot for you to read.
We have been upto lots.
We traveled back to my native home of Russia and spent almost 6 wonderful weeks filled with forests, simplicity and a calming necessity to take it slow and learn about self.
Kolya saw his cousins Vanya and Ulya for the first time. The adventures are in the pictures below.
The tales of dear child souls are only live within the moment of its happening. The setting, the mood, the words which are spoken, the motions which replace the words, the gaze and laughter which shortly follow. Tears and hurt emotions, re-unitement and forgiveness. There is so much to learn from them. Simple joys for simple discoveries like bubbles. I cannot fathom what my grandparents must feel seeing the thrid generation down, revisiting life through the lens of young eyes, through the mind of untouched boundaries of curiosity. Its wonderful to be part of it.

We spent some time 150 km from Moscow in a place called Kobilino, where meadows replace the playgrounds, and mosquitos have a feast every time a centemeter of flesh sees the light of day. (In extreme cases). The house was built by my grandfather, Leonid Nikolaevich Olofinsky, and the garden with all its bundles of flowers, groomed scattered apple and pear trees, combed earth patches and specially treated tomatoes and cucumbers who get the royal treatment out of all the plants present, (capricious and highly in demand on the table) -all this is created and maintained mainly by my grandmother Olga Nikolaeva Abramova. She never took his surname. Almost unheard of in their day.

My mum was there briefly, taking Kolya to the wood to gather pine cones and to play with his little friend Diana. There was alot of family joy, alot of loud quarrels, and alot of laughter.

And back in London, it has been non stop.
We are regular walkers at the Victoria Park in Hackney. I have rediscovered the quiet boulevards and melancholic colours. We walk the canal and we play with the animals on the farms. We try not to give into the blues of the golden autumn days.

We wish you a great October.
More of our adventures to come.
