So, we decided to try Nigel Slater's great chocolate cake which is basically a mix of equal part flower, sugar, butter, nuts and chocolate and some other bits. Turns out its a rather dry cake but somehow this is exactly the kind of cake I would make for my imaginary sister, mama and grandma teaparty. I'll just have to make it for them next time we are all sipping tea around a table in mother Russia.
The only ingredient missing is a nice spoon of whipped cream atop.
