Sometimes we play nicely and read books, but mostly really we obsess about the iPad.
There are just so many uses for it. You can make it play like a piano, sing you a song, show you a cartoon, teach you some maths, endless fun. So, we thought it would be good to share those apps we obsess most about and why.
Kolya (5yrs):
Helicopter Taxi- Fun.
MathTree!- Very clever and seems to preoccupy both Kolya and Alyosha.
Shape-O!- Fun.
WordGrab!- Perfect for Reception as this is exactly in tune with the school program.
Toca Train- Genious! Even for 5 year olds.
Toca Band- Genious. Great concept, the tune doesn't quite get too annoying, super graphics- especially the eager guitar player happy boy.
Hair Xmas- Fun. You can give Santa a punk make-over.
My first Classical Music App- A really great interactive introduction to the world of music. Composers, instruments, every part of the text can be pressed and will be spoken out.
Alyosha (1.5yrs):
Toca Doctor- Really great graphics and so good for little fingers.
Toca Train- Genious!
A Jazzy Day- Alyosha mostly enjoys the fact that he can make the cats talk.
G'night Safari- If everything else is boring, Alyosha refers to this game.
Nighty Night- Alyosha is absolutely obsessed with this game right now. I haven't worked out why yet.
Живая Азбука- Best Alphabet application by a mile.
Live ABC- English version is as incredible. The queen is hillarious!
Флоксики- quite sweet. We definitely like the drawings.
Toca Band- Genious. The boys fight over this one. So a real winner.
MathTree!- Surprisingly, Alyosha spends quite a bit of time adding birds and subtracting apples.
My first Classical Music App- Alyosha is as fascinated by every aspect of this application, as Kolya is.
